Why God Made Little (and big) Boys...

God made a world out of his dreams,

Of magic mountains, oceans and streams,

Prairies and plains and wooded land,

Then paused and thought, "I need someone to stand

On top of the mountains, to conquer the seas,

Explore the plains and climb the trees,

Someone to start out small and grow,

Sturdy, strong like a tree" and so...

He created boys, full of spirit and fun,

To explore and conquer, to romp and run,

With dirty faces, banged up chins,

With courageous hearts and boyish grins.

but what is that "thing"?

held captive for a little while...

then released BACK into the world...

An MMO Easter Egg Hunt and Sweet Friends

These pictures are a little late but I wanted to share pics from Wyatt's Mother's Morning Out Egg Hunt. His friends in his class are so cute and I had such a good time watching them and taking their pics. I have also once again resolved that ...two year olds are hilarious!

Pretty smiles from Carlisle, Courtney and Olivia

A Belated Happy Easter!

"He is not here; He has risen, just as He said." Matthew 28:6

A Belated Happy Easter to all. I was personally touched by the challenge Dr. Barry gave us to go out and live our lives in light of the resurrection. "How will tomorrow be different for you," he asked, "in light of the resurrection?" So I would like to ask that same question to you. How is your life different today (Wednesday) after re-experiencing the resurrection? Praise God! He has risen!

Easter Egg Hunt!

We went out to the Whitehead's farm for the wonderful Easter Egg Hunt! We all enjoyed it so much. Wyatt found 11 eggs, decorated a cookie, saw a real horse and peacock, played with bubbles, rode a tractor and spent sweet time with friends.

Another Recent Comment I Wish I Had Recorded:

Waking Up One Morning... (overheard by us on his monitor)
Wyatt singing
:
"with a cluck, cluck here.
and a cluck, cluck there.
here.. a cluck.
there...a...cluck.
(pause)
(long pause)
I don't like chickens."

Nana and Big Pop's Zoo Spontaneity

Spontaneity is a great thing! I am in love with this way of life! There was a time when a detailed plan gave me great joy and excitement. In fact, I used to conjure up a plan for my day before my toes touched the floor in the morning.

Then I got married.
Then we had a child.
Alot changed.

In any event, whether it is because I am now a mom and can claim that my life is no longer my own or that through life's seasons, God has taught me that His plan will always trump my plan, OR that I am in love with a spontaneous man that has greatly influenced me...I do know one thing.

And that is.

That spontaneity and I mesh well together. :) Soooo when my mom called me up and asked if she and my dad could meet us all at Riverbanks for a picnic and some zoo time, I was delighted. On a morning that was going quickly sour, this sweet spontaneous offer was incredibly well received with a passionate "YES!" from me. So off we went to Columbia... Kayne, Anna Grace, her little friend Jayce, Wyatt and myself to meet Big Pop and Nana for a fun time at the zoo.

"Um. Can I get some help?
(he later did receive help from a friendly zookeeper)
